This is a story of an anthro dragon, his scales shines a deep saphire blue except for the yellow scales on his front.  He also bears two silver horns on his head, and inbetween those horns is a row of spikes gonig down his spine to the middle of his tail.  His wings were kept folded on his back so that they wouldn't get caught on anything, or drag in the dirt.  He wore a yin-necklace, while his close friend, a male anthro dragon, wore the yang.  His scales were a deep purple color, and his chest had sharp golden scales.  His claws had matched his scales in their violet hue, and his three horns curved back in a gracious style.  The spikes along in his spine stayed close to one another, granting him an even more ferocious appearence.  His name was Amet, and the blue dragon was...

"HIERRO SKYBORNE!!"

Hierro awoke with a start, he had fallen asleep while paying attention to his parents tutoring to him of the way of the hunt, Hierro had just entered adult hood in dragon years.  Hierro was unlike his parents, who were full dragons.  An anthro being born into a full dragon family wasn't unheard of, but it was a rare occasion, few have ever heard of something so bizzare to happen.  However, Hierro never let the public minds of the clan mess with him.  Even though he would always practice making swords, the clan mearly found that as another excuse to hate his guts.  Hierro appeard too, human, "I'm up! I'm up," he says as his eyes slowly begin to shut again.

"Boy!  If you do not keep your eyes open, I will WELD them so!" said his father, in a rumbling voice that sounded more like bolders rolling over a cliff than anything inside a creature could make.  His scales were a dusky brown, that only increased the appearence of dirt all over his body.  He wasn't as proud as other dragons for his scales, but he did wear his horns with a great sense of pride, as they were the largest ones of the clan, except for the leader.

Hierro just smiles stupidly and tries to slink away, but runs into his mother, a gorgous blue dragon, her horns were much smaller than most, but she is one of the most beautiful dragons that anyone has ever seen.  She nuged him gently with her nose, "Now, just be patient.  Hunting is easy enough, all it takes is quite," Her voice was much more tranquil then his fathers, like water flowing through a creek.

Hierro stood sholder to sholder with his mother, but His father was a giant of a dragon, being double thier hightes from their sholders.  His fathers wings were wider then other dragons, and he shows off the cuts in his wings proudly when in crowds.  This time, he spread his wings in anticipation as he sees a stag walk out into an opening.  They were proud creatures who wander the forests alone most of the time, only pairing up if they were a family.  Hierro's father eyed him hungrily as he set himself up to pounce through the branches, when Hierro asked, "what is it?"

His father tried to move a wing to silence him, but the stag had already heard and sprinted back into the density of the forest, Hierro's father quickly behind him, crashing all the way.  Hierro's mother only said, "When he makes it back, not a word..."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Back in the village, Hierro looked at the ground, trying to find an answer to how to appologize to his father from losing the stag, when, "HIERRO!!"

Amet returned Hierro's watchful gaze with a grin, and walked up to him in proud steps, his deep scales glowing, and his necklace dancing off of his chest.  He stood perhaps two feet over Hierro, which only made the teasing continue around the two of them.  "You okay?" asked Amet stupidly, then noticed Hierro's solem look, "Oh, how bad was it today?"

"I scared off a stag..." Hierro responded with deep remorse, shoulders sagging even more.

"Ouch... He's gonna be sore about that for a while.  There really rare creatures, Hierro; beautiful with their antlers so vast and their eyes uniquely fixed... oops..." Amet looked down to Hierro, who now played with a rock with his fore-claw, rolling it around n the dirt, "I'm sorry, was that a bit far?"

"kinda..."

Their moment of silence seemed to echo in the small village of caves in the mountain.  Then Amet smacks Hierro in the back of the head, yelling "TAG your 'it'!!" and takes flight.

This instantly cured Hierro of his deppression as he spread out his massive wings and takes flight after Amet.  The two of them laughing all the way as they flew through the sky together, tagging eachother in swift contacts, as they brush up against eachother in lightning quick movements.  It seemed like a few minutes, but finally the sun began to set, and they both crash landed in a tree a short distance from the clan's home, laughing like idiots.

"Hahaha, how , how long has it been since we did this last?"

"three, maybe four years ago..." Amet said in a big toothy smile

Picks up the pendant from his chest and looks at it, deep in thought, "Amet," He looks up and grunts, "Do, you think we'd always be friends?"

Amet dangled from the tree for a while, then finally broke himself free of the branches and said, "Well, I don't see why not." He said in a big smile.  Then Hierro jumped off of the top of the tree and landed next to Amet, the two of them walked back to their homes, exchanging stories and laughing all the way.

However, when Hierro got home, he was treated a bit differently.  The second he was inside the large cave, the side of his head met with a large, thick lock that forced him accross the room.  Followed by strings of swearing and other nonsense in a dragonic tounge.  It went on like that as Hierro slowly raised his dignety up with his body, brushing the dirt off of his body and his pendent.  Until his father bellowed, "...as a matter of fact, your grounded!  No more going outside, no more flying, and absolutely no friends!"

"WHAT?!"  Exclaimed Hierro in shock.  He had mulled over his thoughts angrily, then stated, "fine... how long."

"The rest of the month," he said.

"What?!  That's three weeks!"

His father just snorted and brought himself to his full hight, glaring down onto Hierro.  Hierro had no choice but to back down.  He wouldn't dare fight his own father, who towerd over his meager size.  Hierro stormed off, letting his parents fued over what had happend before them.  His father had detatched him from the outside world, but not his inside one.

He took out a small balck box he hid under his bed of gold coins, and opened it to reveal a silvery sword, finely crafted to everydetail.  This sword had a unique feature to it, for it had two handles, one at the base of the blade, and one inside the base of the blade, over the hilt.  He laied down the blade on his stone desk, and began to craft it with his dragon breath, giving it a faint glow to it, and once the sword was glowing brightly, he began to craft it with his claws.

After an hour or so of listening to his parents feud from below, he had finished his work.  He sighed a deep breath of reliefe, admiring each feature he put into it.  Just as it seemed to be finished, a red gleam appeared above the blade.  In an attempt he tried to clean it off, but thats where the adventure had begun.

Sound stopped, winds halted, even the earth seemed to have stopped moving.  The shock wave blew Hierro back to the opposite side of the room.  He looked up through the pain in his body to see a single ruby, perfectly round in everyfeature, and pure all the way through.  It was increadible, and yet horrifying at the same time.  Slowly the ruby descended into the blade over the second handle, and soon fused into it.  Then Hierro fell asleep from the shock.

Teachings that do not speak of pain have no meaning, for humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return.
